Signal Transduction Complexes
G
protein-coupled receptors are the largest class
of receptors in humans, and in eukaryotic organisms in
general
(Bourne, 1997). Pathways involving G proteins are the
targets of most drugs used for therapeutic
purposes, as well
as for most of those used legally or illegally for
non-therapeutic reasons.
