Research Topic

Characterization and comparison of gene expression patterns in mouse brain
Research Description
The focus of this research is to develop and utilize technologies to perform analysis on gene expression data throughout the mouse brain at cellular resolution. This begins with data collection using high-throughput in situ hybridization, followed by image processing for expression signal detection. The expression patterns are placed into an atlas of the mouse brain, a common coordinate system built using subdivision mesh technology. The results are organized in an online database (www.geneatlas.org) that enables queries and comparisons. Finally, cluster analysis techniques are used for data mining.
